Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 2026

WHK Law Firm, P.C. (“we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through our website and our internal case status tool, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Website contact form. When you contact us through our website, we collect the information you choose to share, such as your name, email, phone number, and message.

USCIS Case Status Tool. For clients we represent, we use an internal tool to check case status with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). This tool uses only your USCIS receipt number and the case status information USCIS returns, such as the form type and the current status. We do not collect location, financial, medical, or contact list information through this tool.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to respond to your inquiry and to provide legal services to you. The case status tool is used only by our staff to monitor cases where we are your attorney of record.

We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information for profit or any other monetary transaction.

Sharing

We do not share your information with marketers, partners, or other third parties. This includes data that has been de-identified, anonymized, or pseudonymized. Third parties may not use or disclose your information for any reason without your active consent, unless the law requires it.

We use a small number of service providers to run our systems: Google Workspace for email and secure file storage, and Wix for our website and contact form. They store your information only to provide these services to us, and they are bound by the terms of this policy.

Your Sharing Choices

You decide what information to share with us. Sharing your receipt number lets us track your case and alert you to updates quickly. If you choose not to share it, we can still represent you, but we will check your case status manually, and updates may reach you more slowly. Immigration records can include details about your family members, so we treat that information with the same care and do not share it.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep case status information while your matter is open. We delete it from the case status tool within 90 days after your matter closes, or after 12 months with no activity on your matter. Some records in your client file may need to be kept longer under the professional rules that apply to attorneys.

Ending Our Use or Deleting Your Data

You can ask us at any time to stop checking your case status, or to permanently delete your information. Email us at info@whklawfirm.com with your name and request. We will complete your request within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep certain records. If the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to you, we will honor your rights under that law.

Security and Data Breaches

We store our systems and access credentials securely to prevent unauthorized access. If a data breach affects your information, we will notify you promptly and explain any steps you can take.

Changes to This Policy

Before we make material changes to this policy, we will email you a plain language summary of what changed. The changes will apply to your information only after you confirm your consent by replying to that email.

If our firm is sold, merges, or closes, we will notify you. Any new owner will follow this policy, or you may ask us to securely return or delete your information.
